Familiar keys
The recognisable calculator shape and its physical keys stay. Your hands already know the layout.

New electronics, a colour display and games, built into the scientific calculator you already know.
An independent project. Not affiliated with or endorsed by Casio. Nothing is for sale yet.

This is a photograph-assisted 3D concept sequence, not a manufacturing render or footage of a finished device.

01Overview
Hackulator takes an ordinary Casio scientific calculator, keeps its body and keys, and replaces the electronics with a custom board and colour display, so the calculator in your bag can also play games.
Keep the keys your hands already know. Rebuild everything behind them around a colour screen.
02Inside
The concept is simple. Keep what works about the calculator and rebuild the rest around a colour screen.
The recognisable calculator shape and its physical keys stay. Your hands already know the layout.
The original board comes out. A custom board designed for the Hackulator goes in its place.
A colour screen replaces the original display, giving games and menus room to breathe.
A purpose-built interface for launching games, changing settings and, if you choose, a personalised look.
This is a prototype, so we're not quoting a final specification. These are the open questions as they are today.
03Games
Every Hackulator comes with Snake, 2048 and Tetris. Use the calculator below for a sum, then press Discover what's inside to open the games.

The real screen will look much nicer than this. This is just a simple web mockup of the layout. The finished Hackulator display will be sharper, smoother and far more polished.

Runs in your browser, so it shows the idea rather than how fast the real hardware runs.
Single compatible games are £2.50 each.

07FAQ
Not yet. Hackulator is a prototype project in development. Display sourcing, running on a single AAA battery and final manufacturing are still being worked out, and the base price hasn't been set.
You can put a build together and save the summary, but nothing on this site takes orders or payments.
Every Hackulator includes Snake, 2048 and Tetris. These are never charged for and can't be removed from your build.
Extras are optional: single games (£2.50 each), the Classics Pack (£5.00), Custom UI (£5.00), a name on the cover (£3.00), an icon on the cover (£4.00), or one of the two forever passes.
It means forever. The Gamer (£10.00) covers every current and future compatible game, including installation, updates and reinstallation of those games, with no renewal and no extra charge.
The Hacker (£20.00) does the same for all compatible software you want, games and Custom UI included. It isn't limited to the games that exist on the day you buy it.
No. Owning a game and having it installed are separate. Deleting or temporarily uninstalling something to free up space doesn't remove your ownership of it.
Hackulator is built from an ordinary Casio scientific calculator. Not every model is suitable, so ask before planning a build if you want to use a calculator you already have.
No. Hackulator is an independent modification project. It isn't made, endorsed or supported by Casio. Replacing the electronics means the device is no longer the original calculator.
A Hackulator is a modified device, so it won't be approved for exams. Only use it where games and modified devices are allowed, and follow your school's or exam board's rules.
Joining is free and there's no obligation to buy. It simply reserves your place in the manufacturing queue for the first small batch, in the order people joined.
When your spot comes up, we'll contact you personally with the price and details, and you decide then. Nothing is ever charged on this website, and you can leave the list any time by emailing us.
Not yet. It will contain Block Blast, Space Invaders and a third game that hasn't been decided. It can't be chosen until all three are confirmed.
